Corrective Breast Surgery

Breast revisions can be associated with size differences, shape differences or scarring related to implants or previous surgeries. They represent some of the surgeons most challenging cases.

This includes over-dissected outside pockets, bottomed-out implants, double-bubble deformities, symmastia, wide cleavage, asymmetry and malposition of implants. Corrective surgery can also include improved positioning of the nipple-areola or revision of prior breast lift scars with modification if excess skin requires removal.

Prior Breast Augmentions

All breast augmentation patients need to consider the possibility of a revision at some point later in her life. Implant placement above the muscle, very large volume implants (because they are heavy), and under filling of saline implants can increase this chance. Sometimes there conditions that are beyond a surgeon's control such as unusually stretchy tissue or asymmetric chest walls that make symmetric breast augmentation impossible. Pregnancies, weight gain/loss and breastfeeding also have unpredictable effects.
