Microdermabrasion

Enhancing your appearance with Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. A device like a fine sandblaster is used to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation.

Microdermabrasion systems enhance the skin condition by improving enlarged or oily pores and granularity of the skin. Microdermabrasion improves fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, lips and neck. Microdermabrasion will assist, but not completely fix, severe sun damage (use resurfacing), moderate to severe acne scarring (use dermabrasion, laser), significant pigmentary problems (use bleaching creams, chemical peels), and deep wrinkles (use resurfacing). Microdermabrasion has little or no effect on skin cancers, keloids, and skin growths.

No anesthesia is necessary and patients can return to their activities after the procedure.
